Corrected some info on the computer game section (that Alexander is the second R:TW expansion, and that Pericles is also a Greek leader in a later Civ 4 expansion). --81.233.196.49 (talk) 15:15, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent table format

[edit]

Just a note to other editors: I'm converting this page to table format in the style of Cultural depictions of Joan of Arc as time permits. Help is welcome. Durova 22:56, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work

[edit]

I like this approach. I've just read the Joan of Arc and Newton ones (and added a comment at Talk:Isaac Newton). Something similar has happened at The Lord of the Rings in popular culture, though that is not a historical matter. This has got me thinking... Cultural depictions of Jesus anyone? :-) Carcharoth 05:20, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In particular, see the {{After Tolkien navbox}} template, which brings the popular culture article together with two others: "Adaptations of" and "Works inspired by". I've thought that something similar could be sone with Shakespeare. Carcharoth 05:23, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I've suggested that for Jesus (who currently has three separate pages, two of which are already under a merger proposal). See Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Core biographies/Cultural depictions of core biography figures. Durova 04:14, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Random trivia

[edit]

Almost forgot. Skandar Keynes was, apparently, named after the Persian name for Alexander the Great. Too trivial I think to go in here, but just thought I'd pop it on the talk page. Carcharoth 06:27, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does this ref even exist?

[edit]
Doesn't look like it to me when I do searches of Google Books using various search strings from the above. Eric talk 16:51, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's a contribution of an unregistered user (IP). [1] I 'd suggest we remove it.Τζερόνυμο (talk) 18:47, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted both edits from that IP. Thanks for catching this. Eric talk 22:03, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Could it be Anthony Wheatley? From the horse's mouth... ;-) --T*U (talk) 11:41, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
ok but for many years this false citation existed and it is spreaded via the web. I think it must be clear that books without a particular page shouldnt exist in the first place. For the truth i had catched this in a few minutes after Τζερόνιμο tried to copy and paste this false citation in greek wikipedia without had read it at all and without tell us that he had used translation from English wikipedia! Ok these promblems exists in greek wikipedia and not here but ok i think the users must at least google the citations and tell clearly that they translate from another WP.i came here to fix the error and i am glad to see that the user who copy and paste without check was here before me.--Αντικαθεστωτικός (talk) 23:54, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
