Need women's winners prior to 1996

[edit]

Does anyone have a source to historical women's winners?

This article could be fleshed out in many ways, including adding sections about the various additional races, what this race served as for qualifying in any given year, charity for each year, management for each year, course for each year, and so much more. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 21:27, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oldest marathon citation needed

[edit]

As @Dying noted in December 2020, there's a discrepancy between whether the Galveston Mardi Gras Marathon is in fact older than the Dallas Marathon. This CBS News article refers to Dallas as "the longest-running marathon in Texas," but this table has results going back to 1969 for Galveston. (While the name on the spreadsheet is Galveston Mardi Gras Marathon and the current marathon is simply Galveston Marathon, the results match up.) Should we go with the reliable source with CBS, go with the spreadsheet and say something along the lines of "the Dallas Marathon is one of the oldest marathons in Texas," explicitly mention the discrepancy, or something else? I'm inclined towards saying Dallas is one of the oldest marathons in Texas, possibly adding "along with the Galveston Marathon", then citing both CBS and the spreadsheet.
