The producer

[edit]

Is Endemol the producer of this "show"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.11.172.36 (talkcontribs)

Yes. Why the scare quotes? — Matt Eason (Talk • Contribs) 19:57, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that was quite scary. Now that the intent of this show has become known, I've added some more information and some screenshots. But it's difficult to develop the "reactions" section, as I can't keep up with the media in other countries (I'm in the Netherlands myself). It would help a lot if everybody added some statement by their local officials or newspapers. —msikma (user, talk) 21:59, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Video

[edit]

Added video with subtitles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.64.58.115 (talkcontribs)

It generally is not a good idea to link to YouTube videos. Often, they are uploaded by those who are not the rightful owners of the material. In that case, linking to them (while knowing full well that they are likely infringing) is to be avoided. —msikma (user, talk) 21:48, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry, I had just added those links again when I saw this post. Even though I don't think the creators of this show would mind (in fact, I think they would applaud it, and I doubt they will let YouTube remove those videos), it stays copyright infringement. This is an encyclopedia after all, not a fan site. - Face 19:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Worldwide View

[edit]

There were some remarkable comments made in the foreign press, about this show, almost nothing about these comments were added to this article, that is why the article received a "worldwide" tag. I still think a section in the article that tells about international reactions, including those made after it was revealed to be a hoax, would be a good idea. Mahjongg (talk) 18:14, 30 November 2008 (UTC) Here are some links showing the foreign press extremely negative reactions. [1] [2] [3][reply]

Current situation?

[edit]

Maybe it's an idea to add a section about the current situation in the Netherlands? The last few years there have been multiple government campaigns to get people to register as a donor. Since recently it's also possible to register online... Anorionil (talk) 18:59, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
