Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
[edit]- In Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland these mentions of death occur:
- Alice jokes that if she falls and dies, she will be "quite a story back home".
- The Queen of Hearts sentences several people to beheading (but the King of Hearts always repeals the sentence).
- The mechanics of beheading are discussed when the queen tells the executioner to behead the Cheshire Cat.
- In included poems which are separate stories:-
- Humpty Dumpty has a fatal fall from a wall.
- Some oysters are represented as walking and talking, then the Walrus and the Carpenter eat them.
