List of victims

[edit]

I'm wondering if the List of Victims is appropriate in this case. Wikipedia:Victim lists, Wikipedia:Casualty lists (although they aren't policy) advise against having a list of victim. Generally we don't have victims lists even when the casualty count is much smaller (eg 2019 El Paso shooting). The reason for that is that most victims aren't notable. WP:NOTMEMORIAL, which is policy, says "Subjects of encyclopedia articles must satisfy Wikipedia's notability requirements. Wikipedia is not the place to memorialize deceased friends, relatives, acquaintances, or others who do not meet such requirements".VR talk 16:59, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This victims list is incredibly helpful in combatting pro-regime propaganda regarding the protests. I believe that the benefits of having a victims list severely outweigh any possible negatives. The policy you posted does not have much relevance in this case as the list is not to "memoralize" anything, let alone "friends, relatives, acquaintances or others." This list simply provides extra information that can be incredibly useful for various reasons (location, date, cause, etc... of death). MarkParker1221 (talk) 20:59, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate?

[edit]

I believe that the person listed on line 90 is the same as the person on line 375. Joyous! | Talk 02:35, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
