California Institute of The Arts

[edit]

I will take it up here as well. Does California Institute of The Arts ([1]) count as a reliable source when it comes to the death of Fran Bennett? Imo it does as a news blog and newsblogs are considered reliable according to WP:NEWSBLOG. I have posted the issue at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#California Institute of The Arts and so far they agree with me. What do you other think? Folengo deleted my entry with the motivation that blogs are not reliable. DrKilleMoff (talk) 09:04, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Most one-person blogs are unreliable, that's generally agreed upon. However, blogs supported and published by organisations such as CalArts should not be viewed in the same way, as there are sometimes multiple contributors and the organisations employ an editor to check and police the veracity of the information or claims being passed on in each blog article by those contributors. To ban blogs en masse just because they're called "blog" is a mistake we shouldn't be making, in these pages certainly. Ref (chew)(do) 10:58, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
