I can't find any outside reference for the following, so I deleted it. Even Disney doesn't have any information. --TangentIdea 01:01, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the 2002 documentary of the same name, it takes place at the Scripps National Spelling Bee and is set to debut in 2006.

This show will no longer be brought to Broadway, due to many previous circumstances. It was in progress with the musical being written at the same time with Putnum County Spelling Bee. It is said that there was rivalry with Putnum County Spelling Bee, which won the race to Broadway.

This edit by user:71.249.131.48 stated:

The name "Walt Disney Theatrical" is not the official name for this Disney division. Their correct name is "Disney Theatrical Group". I suggest that this entry be renamed "Disney Theatrical Group."

I reverted and copied here, I have no idea if this is a correct or not. --Stefan talk 14:17, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disney Theatrical Group

[edit]

I would like to propose a change to the name of this page to Disney Theatrical Group. According to the Walt Disney Company website, it is the official name of the producing organization. Disney Theatrical Productions (as well as Disney Live and Disney on Ice) fall under the DTG umbrella organization.

[1]

There is currently a wikipedia page for Disney Theatrical Group, but it is not nearly as complete or accurately updated as this page. I would love to see if there is a way to them.

Thanks! --Musicoll (talk) 04:20, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Man In the Ceiling

[edit]

What about The Man In the Ceiling? Disney is creating a musical based on Jules Feiffer's book, The Man In the Ceiling. Andrew Lippa is the composer and Jules Feiffer is the bookwriter. I read the book and I thought this will be a winner. It reminds me of 42nd Street and The Producers. They're currently writing the musical right now and I'm sure they'll have it ready in the future.

The whole section Complete List of Official Musical Productions produced or co-produced by Walt Disney Theatricals looks like it either needs to be deleted or totally reorganized and sourced. Dave Dial (talk) 05:36, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is The Man In the Ceiling deleted?

[edit]

Why is The Man In the Ceiling deleted? It's part of the upcoming Walt Disney Theatrical productions. I am telling the truth. It's just currently written. So what gives? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TsWade2 (talkcontribs) 20:42, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Disney Theatrical Productions

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Disney Theatrical Productions's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "ibdb":

  • From Sherie Rene Scott: Disney Theatrical Productions at the Internet Broadway Database
  • From Morosco Theatre: Disney Theatrical Productions at the Internet Broadway Database
  • From Adelphi Theatre (New York City): Internet Broadway Database: Adelphi Theatre (Retrieved on November 30, 2007)

  • From Casino Theatre (New York City): "Casino Theatre (Built: 1882 Demolished: 1930 Closed: 1930)" Internet Broadway Database (Retrieved on December 31, 2007)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 17:01, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

101 Dalmatians and The Rescuers Down Under

[edit]

I've repeatedly asked for a source on the Disney 101 Dalmatians musical, only for the tag to be removed. I've done my own research, and turned up nothing. There are two existing Broadway musicals based on the book - The 101 Dalmatians Musical and 101 Dalmatians (2022 musical) - but they have no connection to the Disney movie. I truly do not believe that the alleged Disney musical is real.

The Rescuers Down Under: The Musical Interior Adventure isn't real either. It's so obviously not real, it wasn't even worth the Google search. The title alone sounds like it came from Idea Wiki. Why would Disney pick The Rescuers Down Under for a Broadway adaptation? What kind of songs would a The Rescuers Down under musical have? It doesn't make any sense.

What's annoying is, this isn't even the first time I've seen both of those added here. Years ago, someone put them either on the article, or on the navigation box. For some reason, somebody out there really wants these musicals to exist, and they really need to let it go. --76.147.21.146 (talk) 22:04, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Presumably" no longer in development

[edit]

When I edited the Oz the Great and Powerful page to say that the sequel has "presumably" been abandoned, my edits were reverted in lieu with the notion that wikipedia doesn't presume anything. If that's the case, how does this page get away with saying that certain productions are "presumably" no longer in development? 100.36.114.146 (talk) 21:59, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
