Moved to Diva (TV network). Main thrust appears to be elimination of "Universal" from the title, which has consensus below. Since the disambiguator is not the same as nominated, there is no prejudice if editors want to begin a new RM at any time to attempt to garner consensus for a different qualifier. Kudos to editors for your suggestions, and Happy Publishing! (nac by page mover) Paine Ellsworth, ed. put'r there 05:50, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
Diva Universal → Diva (TV channel) – Daniel.9 wants to move Diva Universal to Diva (TV channel) and tried to do it via copy & paste moves which have been reverted. The reasoning provided by Daniel.9 in an edit summary is it is a former brand name From what I can tell the Asian and Romanian versions seem to support this. These also seem to be the only two left operating. ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 09:06, 19 November 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. B dash (talk) 14:55, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
- Move instead to Diva (TV network) per WP:NCBC. (TV channel) is deprecated and only used for coverage of individual channels. Since this article is about a network of channels, it should be (TV network). -- Netoholic @ 23:30, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why they deprecated it as there are clearly TV channels in the world which are not networks and even with the example of Fox Sports 2 they say it's a channel. Strange guideline. --Gonnym (talk) 00:10, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- It's an (annoying) contentious issue – "TV network" should actually only be used in those cases where "affiliate stations" are used to make up a "TV network" (e.g. CBS). Everything else, esp. cable TV nets, should in fact be at "TV channel" (e.g. Lifetime (TV channel), like Fox Sports 2, etc.). But this conceptually simple idea has been repeatedly challenged at WP:NCBC, for ostensibly the "historical" definition of a "TV channel" (e.g. "channel 11" on the TV dial), so we have the (IMO) currently nonsensical arrangement where everything is basically a "TV network", even though most of them are in fact not "TV networks"... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 00:31, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- A channel is a singular content stream, such as a specific numbered channel as it would appear on a customer-facing home program guide. These aren't appropriate as articles in most cases, since the true topic is the network behind that channel. The network operates channels under their brand on several subscription services as well as usually web content streams and international versions as well. A network is a brand identity. And yes, especially in the modern industry, most topics are networks because they operate these several content streams. -- Netoholic @ 10:30, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
