Dates needed

[edit]

I've done some WP:MOS clean-up of the article. It would be great if we had some dates to cover when this bike was made. Malber (talk contribs game) 13:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This articles title is incorrect!

[edit]

This article is titled "Dnepr M-72". This is incorrect and should read "M-72 Motorcycle" The name Dnepr (which were produced at the Kiev Motorcycle Plant in Kiev Ukraine) was not introduced until 1967 on the K-650 motorcycle, a far decendant from the original M-72 motorcycles and sidecars. I see the title is "protected"? Perhaps a good Wihipedian could adjust it, it's just wrong! Sincerely, JD — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.101.81.78 (talk) 02:45, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious fansite

[edit]

It's pretty clear that the site http://bcozz.multiply.com/journal/item/2191/Timeline is a fansite, that is, a personal blog and forum, put up by somebody called "b-Cozz". There is no disputing that many fansites on the web are valuable sources of information, but that's not where Wikipedia draws the line. Self-published web sites, described in WP:SPS, are not good sources by Wikipedia's standards. We need to find something better, or else remove the paragraph. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 16:52, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

b:Cozz is accepted as a premiere English language site by most Soviet motorcycle enthusiasts. Dennis Bratland (talk has a history of vandalism to Soviet motorcycle sites, particularly the renaming of [[[M-72 (motorcycle)]] without reference to the community. While he may be well-intentioned, he lacks knowledge and fails to cite valid information in his edits. If Dennis Bratland (talk would read the Russian sources (and several translation sites are readily available) he would acknowledge his lack of knowledge in this area. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jew not Zionist (talkcontribs) 12:35, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It should be noted that Dennis Bratland (talk) moved this page without consultation and contrary to the references. He has repeatedly failed to correct his vandalism despite repeated requests. He shunned requests to correct his vandalism and made light of any attempt to correct his vandalism. His comments have been highly insulting! Jew not Zionist (talk) 13:53, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Vandalism to Russian pages? Oh really? In any case, please focus on the content, not the contributor on article talk pages. It's clearly a fansite, incivility aside. tedder (talk) 17:15, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The bcozz site is an accumulation of 100s of peoples knowledge on the Soviet/Russian motorcycles, just like Wikipedia has been built from contributions by people. While we're here, can someone remove the word Dnepr from this articles title, its just wrong. It should read M-72 Motorcycle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.101.81.78 (talk) 09:40, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
