- ... that Doug was nominated to Guinness World Records as the world's largest potato before genetic testing confirmed it was actually a tuber? Source: https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/giant-potato-guinness-world-records-tuber-b2037024.html

- Sorry, I put this up for discussion at AfD coz it just seems like textbook WP:NOTNEWS to me. Hoping to stand corrected, because it's certain long & new enuf, very interesting, etc.! Kingoflettuce (talk) 01:27, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
- AFD was closed as no consensus. I'm not sure if that solves the notability issues but since there's currently no ongoing AFD, the nomination can now resume. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:00, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
- No photo, what a shame. Article is short, but long enough. Whimsical and clickable enough for DYK. Correct inline citations and without copyright issues. I am sure the internet will never forget Doug, and they will trot him out whenever a potato is touted as the biggest. It is neutral with a good verified hook and a somewhat interesting article. Why would this be deleted?
[edit]This article is about something intresting, a gigantic potato that wasn't a potato at all. After reading the article, it's honestly nuts. I think it's notable enough for inclusion, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't violate any of the policies of Wikipedia. So, why would it be considered for being deleted?
