Link?

[edit]

Okay, why place a link to this [1] website, when the it is the exact information on this page? How about we create just link the provincial pages from [2] to the Scouting Ireland page. Stevecull 22:26, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

[edit]

I was actually thinking of adding this to the Scouting Ireland page. There are many diferent organisations for scouting in Ireland at the moment that are not mentioned yet. By explaing the way Scouting Ireland is structured people might spot the difference. Especially, the fact that Scouting Ireland is an all_ireland movement (not like others). The different Provinces all have their own history and I would like to expand these pages rather than just adding a link on the Scouting Ireland page. They need a lot of expansion and I am quite sceptical seeing as the history of the provinces only stretches back to 2004. You say "There are many diferent organisations for scouting in Ireland at the moment", I disagree. It would be disingenuous to claim that the Baden Powell Scouts, Scout Association of Northern Ireland or any other groups, even Guides, has anything approximating the membership of Scouting Ireland. If the provincial articles don't expand then I will suggest merging the articles into one single page. BUT as always if you need any help then just drop me a line on my talk page. I think there are a LOT of more important work to be done on Irish articles though. We need to get at least one up to GA status... I look forward to working with you soon. Ok, I do agree that the only organisation for scouting that can claim a decent membership is Scouting Ireland. I do think, however, that other organisations should be mentioned in the Scouting Ireland article.Same as the Provinces articles. Their history is short but a lot has happened in this time. A lot of friction still exists between the 2 former groups and I often experience different standards at events like the County Cups. The Phoenix is for example dominated by former CBSI units and although S.I. tries to change this a lot has to be done. Ca you tell me which articles about Scouting and/or articles need to be worked on?

See my to do list on my talk page for articles needing attention. Any development on this article? Stevecull 14:16, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

???

[edit]

Still no development, I'm gonna nominate this for deletion soon... as with the other provincial articles... Stevecull 09:21, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed mergers

[edit]

All articles are of low natability and should be merged into this provincial article. I can't understand why we restrict BSA/GSUSA on state level and accept local articles with little content for Ireland. --jergen 09:47, 23 September 2006 (UTC) agree - the rule should be universal throughout the Scouting project - although in Ireland it might be the County level, like the UK, rather than the Province. Page move proposal

[edit]

I think the official name for the province is Dublin Metropolitan Scout Province [3]. If no-one has any objections I will move this page to Dublin Metropolitan Scout Province in a few days time. Bláthnaid 15:09, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page moved. Bláthnaid 22:39, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
