Martha's offspring

[edit]

I removed mention of Martha's alleged son, the original entry of which was:

Since Martha would have only been 2½ yrs old when this person was born, I find the information dubious. And the link just goes to Wyatt's main page. --Evb-wiki (talk) 17:39, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rosella Dragoo

[edit]

It's a well-known piece of mystery amongst Earp historians and genealogists alike that Virgil married a French girl 10 years his junior in 1870 and three years later no longer considered her his wife as he had taken up with Allie (his third wife) in 1874 (no official record of their marriage has ever been found). For this reason, I have reverted the ommission of the information on Rosella Dragoo. If anyone has any compelling reason why this is not interesting nor pertinent information to the "extended family" section of this article, post it. Please provide a source for this "well-known piece of mystery". Per policy that is a good enough reason to remove anything. --Evb-wiki (talk) 15:56, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done. SkagitRiverQueen (talk) 16:16, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rozilia Draggoo married Virgil Earp 28 May 1870 in Lamar, Missouri. Marriage performerd by J. P. Nickolas Earp, Virgil's Father. Filed for record 30 May 1870. Rosella (also spelled Rosilla) was born 3 January 1845 to Andrew M. Dragoo, Sr. and wife #2, Elizabeth Parker. We can trace the Dragoo family back to France in 1639, but we can't determine what happened to Rosella. This makes Rozilia 2 years Virgil's senior. Cause of divorce, and any information on Rozilia has not been located nor her place of burial. resource: Ancerest.com. sumitted to Wikipedia Randy King on April, 29, 2014 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.112.6.90 (talk) 22:20, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Earps as Pimps

[edit]

Is anyone going to tackle the allegations, and fairly common ones, that all of the Earp wives were at one time or another prostituted by their husbands? 65.79.173.135 (talk) 17:55, 16 September 2009 (UTC)Will in New Haven65.79.173.135 (talk) 17:55, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's been established that one or more of the Earp brothers' wives were "solied doves" before, after, and during their marriages (well...common-law marriages, at least). However - I'm fairly certain from everything I've ever read about the Earps that the pimping allegation was nothing more than an unfounded rumor, spread by their opponents and enemies. Of course, if anyone can come up with a reliable reference to back up the claim...the information should probably be then added. SkagitRiverQueen (talk) 22:04, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think most are getting the fact of the Earps common-law wives being PREVIOUS prostitutes, with the Earp brothers being their pimps. During that time, most men like the Earps who were constantly moving and were lawmen found their wives in houses of sin. You didn't have alot of other choices during those times. Alot of young women were thrown into prostitution, some as early as 12, as a way to support not only themselves but their entire families, and some were eager to attach themselves to a man who could or might be able to support them no matter where they may have to go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RedneckBelle (talkcontribs) 00:38, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Earp's familyEarp family — The move would correct the shortened name over an existing redirect. I moved the page from Wyatt Earp's family to defocus the article, since several members of the family are notable, and because Wyatt kept being listed as one of his own siblings. —Evb-wiki (talk) 15:55, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

impossible birth dates

[edit]

Josiah, the son, is born before Walter, the father. Clearly impossible. I don't know the correct information, but this isn't it. 96.46.20.164 (talk) 06:21, 27 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
