Tourism

[edit]

There are about four different percentages listed for tourism as a part of GDP. Someone needs to clean this entire page up. 67.100.31.76 (talk) 23:57, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Under WP:SOFIXIT, if it bothers you, fix it. You are a wikipedia editor, too. Snowfire51 (talk) 00:02, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Tourism is one of the most important sectors of the economy, accounting for approximately 16.6% (2000) of GDP. Employment, foreign earnings, construction, banking, and commerce are all dominated by tourism-related industries. Tourism earned $631 million in 1999-2000."

- $631M equal to 16% of GDP seems too high. Entire GDP is listed as ~$900M at the end of the article. Also, that would produce average spend of ~5K per visitor (~130K visitors cited in the article) - seems extremely high. $63.1M sounds more plausible (about $500 per visitor), although GDP percentages still don't add up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.234.190.180 (talk) 22:05, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. The Statistical Office provides National Accounts with an extra sheet concerning value added by tourism related industries at current market prices. Fort 2016, the numbers are (in SR millions): Total tourism-related GDP: 4.809,9; Total GDP: 19.014,1; that leads to a 25,3% share of tourism. Defaulted on some debt

[edit]

It may be of interest that the current Standard & Poor's credit rating for the country is SD (selective default), meaning that it defaulted on some of its debt or interest payments. Icek (talk) 16:28, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everyone, I am working for the International Trade Centre (ITC). I would like to propose the addition of an external link that could lead directly to the specific country’s trade data held by ITC. I would like you to consider this link under the WP:ELYES #3 prescriptions. Moreover, the reliability and the pertinence of this link can be supported by the following facts 1) ITC is part of the United Nations 2) No registration is required 3) Trade data (imports/exports) are regularly updated 4) The link gives direct access to the trade database of the specific country 5) The addition of reliable trade data to the Economy section of the country could provide an appropriate contribution to the information therein contained. Thank you for your attention.Divoc (talk) 08:03, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
