- Weak oppose readers looking for the inventor will overwhelmingly include "Thomas" in their search and while I haven't heard of anything other than Thomas for "Edison" it seems better to keep this is a DAB simlar to Columbus noting that the NJ city (which gets around 5%) has a population of around 100 thousand and while US cities are often referred to by including the the state, there still full matches for "Edison". Clearly Thomas is by far the most important and popular topic with this name but its clear you would include "Thomas" when searching of referring to him. I also agree with Paintspot by putting the name and Thomas on the 1st line. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:35, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
- No, as with other well-known people, he is often referred to simply by his surname. Probably in normal speech far more than by his full name, in fact. We would commonly say "Edison invented that", for instance, not "Thomas Edison invented that". And everyone would know who we were talking about. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:14, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
