Largest mine in Britain?

[edit]

According to this source http://www.jnadin1.50megs.com/custom4.html , there were other pits that employed more people than Yorkshire Main. For example, nearby Brodsworth pit employed 2800 people in 1980. There needs to be a reference on this page that Yorkshire Main was the largest mine in Britain. It could do with an explanation of what largest applies to as there are several possible means of being largest. May be area, number of employees, amount of coal mined etc.. Keith D (talk) 17:26, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Will submit further clarification to follow --Beatcascade (talk) 09:40, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

School fire

[edit]

Why didn't Sir Thomas Wharton care that the school was burned down? I'm sure that is not what you wanted to infer, but this needs rewriting to clarify its meaning. I presume Sir Thomas Warford is an adjoining school. Skinsmoke (talk) 16:58, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Will submit full history of this event and the building of the new school Sir Thomas Wharton --Beatcascade (talk) 09:39, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sir Thomas Wharton Community College is the name of the NEW school built next to the old one, ...the old one was just called Edlington Comprehensive
