Inclusion of Ottoman alternative chronologies and the entry numbers of the defter registry
[edit]This kind of information can stay as a footnote in the correspondent reference but it does not offer to an encyclopedia any historical information for a reader. I understand that a researcher on Ottoman scripts may find them useful as part of his research but a typical reader finds them completely boring the least. It's also not necessary per wp:MOS.Alexikoua (talk) 00:52, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Alexikoua. Yes it can stay in the footnote. Can you add them to footnotes I do not know how to do that. After you do it I will learn it from your edit summary and can start doing it myself in the future. Also can you please add the names or the numbers of the defter. The defter for the Janissaries is called "eşkal". In that defter the names, heights, eye colors, attributes (Scar in face, mole in the hand etc.) etc. are recorded. I see that you changed the defter as estimates. Ottoman documents are not made as estimates at that time it also records the names of the households as well as the names of the unmarried males or widows. These are all for tax reasons. For that reason estimates is not an accurate word. Estimate can be used for travellers who passed here. While you were gone for 2 weeks I was mostly in contact with @Demetrios1993 or @Khirurg as they were following up on most my edits. I would like us to constructively work together in the articles because edit warring is really wasting all our time. Utku Öziz (talk) 16:26, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- I fully agree on everything. Just give me additional 24h to make some fixes and let me know if you have any questions.Alexikoua (talk) 03:34, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
