"Punk'd" comments too POV

[edit]

I saw the Punk'd episode with Ellen Pompeo and I lost no respect for her, and I'm not even a fan (actually think she's a mediocre actress). So, I think it's fair to say that this wiki comment about "many of her fans" losing respect is rediculous.--71.131.253.148 00:45, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, sorry. As an Australian who doesn't get Punk'd on TV out here, I'd add that the information is irrelevant. Fans lost respect for her why? What did she do on the episode of Punk'd she appeared in? Yelled abuse, attacked someone? I mean, what? What does she do in real life that people don't respect her for, eat babies? 203.173.11.43 13:51, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I'm deleting it.-Onward ND 03:32, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well i agree the comment shouldn't be there, but I did loose respect for her, what a nasty human being.

Ha! i don't blame her. When a woman starts coming on to your man, i will say whatever the hell i want. So big ups to Ellen for being herself and a woman. Not like women don't do that. Please.

Well, in her defense, she didn't know she was being watched. People say a lot of mean and/or sarcastic things when they don't expect it to show up on TV later on... - Vivness (talk) 10:06, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ouch, that's not in her defense at all. You're saying she's a mean person unless she pretends not to be for the camera. 64.111.153.16 (talk) 05:03, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm just saying that she said something mean or sarcastic then, whether or not she usually acts like this, and then it got shown on TV (and probably all the not-mean stuff edited out) and now it may look to people that she's always a mean person. Vivness (talk) 22:59, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Age

[edit]

This article states she was born in '74, in IMDB it says '69. Could someone figure this out? I tried. SRodgers--65.24.77.104 20:52, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think is '69. She looks more like '69. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Airesrajal (talkcontribs) 12:12, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gesualdo

[edit]

the source is an interview she gave Vanity Fair italian edition, 02/23/2006 issue... ask it to wikipedia italian embassy, if you don't believe me...

Excuse me?

[edit]

In the intro of this article it says she plays "a world renown doctor and a trailblazing surgeon". Um does the person who wrote this watch the show? I was sorry to have seen the first season under the ill advisement of others and see this as wrong. She played a surgical intern and her character's mother fits the description of all that but definitely not Ellen Pompeo's character. I'll be removing it. Abrynkus 20:55, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Try watching more seasons... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.53.199.176 (talk) 07:32, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph

[edit]

The photo of Ellen Pompeo is of the ensemble cast of her show; you can't even make out her face in that picture because there are several other people in it taking up space. The picture should be changed to one with just her in it; maybe we could tell what she looks like, then.

I REALLY agree. There should be a face shot of Ellen on there. Not sure how to do it though, so can someone else do it?--Mclover08 00:12, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes can we please have a photo i dunno how to do it but maybe a picture of her from the vanity fair oscar party 2007, she looks amazing there!

Well now we have a photo of her giving the stink-eye to anyone who dares enter the article. I know we need photographs unencumbered by copyrights, but that photo is just ridiculous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.179.141.166 (talk) 04:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • LOL... well the photo is courtesy of Luke Ford, aka "the Camera of Death". All of the photos he himself takes on lukeford.net are usable under the Creative Commons (see here for details) and the full set of photos he took at the 27 Dresses premiere can be found here. There is one other photo of Ellen which is present on the site - this one, but I chose not to upload that one as I felt the photo which is currently on the page is the better of the pair. Political Leanings

[edit]

Article States that she is a republican and Bush supporter; however, she donated $4600 to Obama for 2008 and did not support Bush in 2004 or the republican candidate for 2008..see link http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/neighbors.php?type=name&lname=pompeo&fname=ellen&older=yes&search=Search (Hatchette 02:23, 15 November 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Chris Ivery

[edit]

There seems to be some debate over whether his status as an ex-con should be in the article. I've done a search on Google's News feature for Chris Ivery, and of the relevant links, not one of the recent hits for Chris Ivery make mention of him beyond being Ellen's husband and a record producer. Tabercil (talk) 13:13, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Further: That he is an ex-con would be something to mention in his article on Wikipedia, but not in her article. Tabercil (talk) 14:02, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Folks, please discuss the "ex-con" statement on this talk page and not in the edit comments? Tabercil (talk) 15:26, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

[edit]

Couldn't we put a more flattering photo in this article? She sure has better ones... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ana Caterina (talkcontribs) 23:34, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Or at least a clearer photo? The current image is blurry, her eyes are nearly shut, and her tongue is almost sticking out. 208.127.230.225 (talk) 13:35, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

6 toes...?

[edit]

What's the story with this? There are news articles available and photos claiming to show this. Is this just a rumor or does actually suffer from polydactyly...? (Bobbo9000 (talk) 03:06, 4 September 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Rumour. Per this, the start of the whole thing was just some photos taken at a very unflaterring angle. Tabercil (talk) 13:40, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The start of the rumour was an article published in The Daily Mail on 1 September 2010, url = [1]. On 5 September they published a correction: url = [2]. 86.150.103.49 (talk) 15:37, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mother

[edit]

From the article: "the daughter of Kathleen B. (née O'Keefe)". I've searched for "Kathleen B. O'Keefe" and found some mathematical articles whose author had this exact name ( https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q="Kathleen+B.+O%27Keefe"&btnG=&lr= ) Was her mother a mathematician?

Interference by TV show

duplicate images

[edit]

I've removed File:Ellen Pompeo and Jimmy Kimmel.jpg from the article. We use File:Ellen Pompeo in 2019 cropped from her photo with Jimmy Kimmel.jpg in the infobox. This is a crop of the first image (to remove Jimmy Kimmel). I see no valid reason why we should use both images in the article, particularly since we don't even mention Jimmy Kimmel in the article. Meters (talk) 00:04, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I had put the story about the image and the reference in the caption. They were removed. --Suddhadeep (talk) 00:48, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

She was on his show. So what? Why is that important enough to warrant two versions of the same image? I'm sure she has been on lots of talk shows, and photographed with many other celebrities, but we don't have copies of pictures of her from those shows or with those other people.
And where is this supposed agreement "that a cropped image and a full image can coexist" that you referred to in your edit summary? I see no such discussion. Meters (talk) 00:53, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jimmy Kimmel's "free" photograph

There is an ongoing discussion at Commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ellen Pompeo and Jimmy Kimmel.jpg to discuss whether the picture is really free for use. Cryptic-waveform (talk) 18:48, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The incident with Denzel Washington was false!! Denzel Washington was not on Grey's Anatomy. It was Isaiah Washington who played in it. You need to fix that!! It was Isaiah not Denzel!!!!!! Crazydazy7477 (talk) 13:57, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it was Denzel Washington (as per what the sources say). There are also other sources, including one in which he was asked about the incident. M.Bitton (talk) 17:15, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
