"Englewood" ZIP Codes

[edit]

Only unincorporated areas within respective ZIP codes use "Englewood" as the mailing city. Sheridan, etc. use their respective city names as the mailing city despite being Englewood ZIP codes.

When the f U.S. Postal Service adds additional cities as "acceptable" place names to use with a particular ZIP code - as it has with Sheridan, Greenwood Village, Centennial, etc. - it then becomes elective to use these city names for addresses within that ZIP code. "Englewood" remains the "default" place name, and many databases only recognize this single "default" name and no other. For instance, if "Centennial, CO 80112" is entered on certain websites, the address will automatically be "corrected" to read "Englewood, CO 80112". Furthermore, people are creatures of habit and continue to use "Englewood" in their addresses, even if their location is in one of the other cities. One need only to do a few internet searches of companies in the Denver Tech Center area, and many of them indicate their address as "Englewood, CO 80112", even though they are actually in Greenwood Village or Centennial. I am curious why the Demographics section is based on the 2010 census rather than 2020. Chilepod (talk) 16:22, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
