Small Edits

[edit]

I made some a couple of grammatical edits to this page, and changed "White" to "European". The two terms don't overlap perfectly, but "white" really shouldn't be used as an ethnic or racial term outside of countries (mostly in the Americas) that would actually use it in their censuses. 209.235.2.8 (talk) 15:19, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Uzbeks

[edit]

I feel like the figures for Uzbeks (especially in the immigration statistics) are low. Could this be because Uzbek immigration to Kazakhstan is largely undocumented? Does anyone know of any studies that might flesh this subject out? Konchevnik81 (talk) 15:21, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary immigrants are not counted. Only the permanent immigrants are counted. Axxn (talk) 04:39, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Could we get a definition of "temporary" versus "permanent" immigrants? Does temporary mean unregistered? I think it would be worth adding in estimates for unregistered and temporary immigrants. I did some digging and this article from 2007 indicates that there are some 400,000 Uzbek immigrants in Kazakhstan. Demographics of the United States, for example, has information on illegal immigrants, so it would be useful to add similar info for Kazakhstan even if such people are not normally included in the official census figures.Konchevnik81 (talk) 15:44, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Adding the Uzbek figures from the site referenced to the article.Konchevnik81 (talk) 19:33, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Population Census list

[edit]

I summed all numbers fof nations for getting the result and the result is awful, totally 6.169.469 but there is written completely different number/ The second problem is that year some sources shows that there was 46 Azerbaijanians in Kazakhstan but it didn`t stated in there. 1989 census shows that there were more than 90 000 Azerbaijanis but officialy it is 88 951.
