Ancestry

Hi, has Green herself ever admitted to having Sephardi ancestry? For years, her page did not mention any Sephardi roots whatsoever.[1][2][3]

That was until 24 November 2015, when a user named "Bostonnine" added that she was Sephardi Jewish without providing an edit reason or any new sources.[4] Furthermore, this user, "Bostonnine", was blocked the very same day for personal attacks and harassment.[5]

When this user added mention of Green being Sephardi Jewish, one of the sources, an interview with The Guaridan, records Green saying she is Jewish, but no mention of Sephardi roots.[6] Quote: "Given that her mother is Jewish [...] I'm Jewish. I don't think he has anything against the Jews." And another source that describes her as being Jewish from NY Daily News, but no mention of Sephardi Jewish heritage specifically.[7] Quote: "Jewish actress is disgraced designer's defender [...] Green, who is Jewish."

Other source provided was an interview with her mother for Le Figaro, but I don't see mention of her being Jewish, let alone Sephardi Jewish specifically (Juif).[8]

That just leaves the only other source cited at the time, the Berg and Chalom Chemouny book, but there is no link for web access to it and until that now banned user added it, her page did not mention Sephardi Jewish heritage specifically.

Now, there's an article from her by The Guardian that mentions Sephardi Jewish descent, but it is the only web source cited that mentions this, it is not a direct quote from Green herself and it came out several months after her Wiki page added this information and could very well be a possible case of circular reporting. The Guardian even mentions that her father is half-Swedish, half-French descent, but the only source provided on this per current version of her page[9] is a user-run blog by a person who has the username "lebarbu1" through Skyrock, a social media platform that allows any user to run a blog.[10] A 2007 Yahoo Movies bio on her describes her father as being Swedish (not half-Swedish/half-French) and her mother being French.[11] The Gala magazine article on her father also does not state he is "half-Swedish/half-French". It just calls him Swedish (Suédois).[12]

Which further leads me to believe that the 2016 Guardian article may have used some circular reporting (i.e - checking her Wiki page or IMDb) when adding personal information in the article.

Many sources often only stated that her mother is Jewish (but no specific mention of Sephardi Jewish roots). They all appear to have the same quote from Green herself, that she is Jewish/her mother is Jewish but no specific mention of Sephardi Jewish roots.[13][14][15][16]

Unless pg. 402 of that alleged book cited specifically states that she is of Sephardi descent, then I don't know where that came from. It seems to be a likely case of circular or original research and dubious/unusable sources that lead to this conclusion. The quotes provided from Green herself do not specify what specific Jewish ethno-group she belongs to (unless I missed a source provided). And unless she personally is quoted to admitting this or maybe she does something akin to that "Finding Your Roots" show in the U.S, I'd be skeptical of any source published more recently that regurgitates that her full ancestry includes Swedish, French and Sepahrdi Jewish roots.
