Federal Agency on Atomic Energy (Russia) → Federal Agency on Atomic Energy – There are no other Federal Agencies on Atomic Energy, so there is no need to specify "(Russia)". Move cannot be completed as the page already exists as a redirect. Nirutochi (talk) 05:15, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:12, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Nirutochi: oppose. There are atomic energy agencies with more or else similar names and/or purposes in many countries. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 06:14, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose the (Russia) here is serving a useful purpose since the name is somewhat obscure and generic and this later became Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, so "of Russia" is important information per title recognizablity. Clipping titles doesn't benefit users in a case like this. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:06, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose Even if there's no other agency with this name, that's how they're named with the country identifier. There's one multi-move request that have over 30 of them and they were all opposed unanimously I tried to find it when I removed this from WP:RMTbut couldnt. –Ammarpad (talk) 09:24, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- Are you talking about Talk:Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport (Ontario) (although that wasn't unanimous) {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 00:45, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

and, or, it
[edit]The article has issues. First sentence includes (and) Federal Agency on Atomic Energy (or Rosatom), and or's it with Rosatom directly. The first two paragraphs are awkward to read. This is my understanding: Sredmash --> Minatom --> Federal Agency on Atomic Energy (2004 to 2007?) --> Rosatom. Confirm? 17387349L8764 (talk) 17:13, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
