There are two of these churches

[edit]

Since these churches are an opposite corners of the capitol square of a former confederate/slave state, it is not even surprising that there would be a white one and a black one. This page notes that the black members of this church left to form a new congregation. It fails to note that that church is still located on the opposite corner of the same square. Both churches are still called First Baptist. The historically white church that this page is about is at 99 N. Salisbury St. The historically black church that doesn't have a wikipedia page (but needs one) is at 101 S. Wilmington St. http://www.raleighfirstbaptist.org/history.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:30CA:6270:590F:804D:2180:A210 (talk) 23:48, 25 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
