Notability

[edit]

{{notability|Companies|date=February 2012}} Companies?? Are you serious? This is about a Flora of a Central African region and is plenty notable. Paul venter (talk) 19:18, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • From the article: Flora Zambesiaca is an ongoing botanical project Please read WP:N. You have not put anything in the article to show how the PROJECT is notable, ie: no media that is independent of the PROJECT, that is talking about the PROJECT. I think getting a third opinion at this stage may be advisable. Paul venter (talk) 19:40, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds perfectly fine. Keep in mind that all articles have to demonstrate the subject matter is notable, and verifiable using independent sources. If you feel this article should be an exempted from all guidelines and policies at Wikipedia, then by all means, get a third opinion. I will gladly participate. One wasn't asked for, but I'll provide another opinion. Regardless of the definition of project or organization, Flora Zambesiaca is much more than that. The article certainly establishes notability, as this publication is one of the authoritative references on the flora of that region. Compare to Flora of Australia (series). This article is absolutely fine and the notability tag was unwarranted. Rkitko (talk) 19:39, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
