'Silly death'

[edit]

I reverted 83.44.32.136's edit: "Faber is not eligible for a Darwin Award for obvious reasons, but still died a very silly death."

This isn't silly, it's tragic. The Darwin Awards are a recent phenomenon and entirely irrelivant to the subject matter. It would be absurd to list "not eligible for a Darwin Award" in the articles for Jean-Baptiste Lully and Pope Clement VII, don't you think? :-) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.180.46.171 (talkcontribs) 18:46, 3 April 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Maison de François Faber

[edit]

François Faber étant de père luxembourgeois, qui connait les origines de cet homme,le nom de son épouse, son parcours professionnel, des frères et soeurs de François? A Wiltz au Grand-Duché il y a une maison qui porte l'inscription "Maison de François Faber". Est-ce une erreur?Á —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.99.58.94 (talkcontribs) 19:47, 31 May 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Anyone know if...

[edit]

...Faber ever opened any bicycle shops? Because there's an extremely run-down shop nearby my humble abode in San Jose, but I'm not entirely sure if -- well, you know. Obviously, he wouldn't be in California, but perhaps someone could help me out here . . . ? Ryoji.kun 03:03, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality Issue

[edit]

This man was born in France, died in France (for France), and "considered himself French"...yet his nationality is "Luxembourgish" just because his father was born in Luxembourg?Ryoung122 18:43, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure if you are suggesting that wikipedia is showing the wrong information, or if you are suggesting that his nationality is just strange... Anyway: his nationality is stated as Luxembourgish because all the sources say so, and he had a Luxembourgish passport, and no French passport. He fought in the French Foreign Legion, so it's pretty sure he was not legally French. Apparantly it was the way the nationality laws worked when he was born. --EdgeNavidad (Talk · Contribs) 19:50, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Two different heights and weights?

[edit]

The Giant has two different heights and weights here. Does anyone know which is correct?

1.78 m/88 kg in the top summary box 1.86 m/91 kg in the body of the text (more "giant"?) Chipmunkster (talk) 02:09, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
