Hello. I'm an alumni of this unique school and I made some semantic and clarifying changes. I added to the issue of student-teacher intimacy that students address their teachers by their first name and vice versa. In addition, I marked up the article to include links to other articles. I did some copyedits on the blurb about parker teachers leaving. Jake -- where did you get the information about Parker spending a greater percentage of its budget on teacher salary than any other school in the state? I'd like to attribute that stat to a source or remove it. I also changed "underpaid" to the NPOV "paid less than teachers in other local public schools" -- even this is a little hard to leave in, since Parker doesn't make its pay scale public. All this said, I should probably refrain from editing stuff on teacher motivation and salary, since I'm hardly an unbiased contributor Tom

I have an issue with some things in the Student Body section. I understand that the purpose of citing the "isolated location" is to emphasize the need for students to have parents who can drive them to school, but I think this need is more an effect of the geographic diversity of the Parker population than "isolation." The area around Parker is fairly well-built-up suburbs/exurbs(?) and certainly the fact that Devens is a quite town doesn't mean it's isolated. Also, while I know that "Central Massachusetts" conveys isolation, I think Eastern Massachusetts is more accurate. Any thoughts? Michael White, Parker Student

Where is the stat that yearly admission is limited to 70 students from? Given that the school has had slightly more than 360 students (in 6 grades) since I've been here, this would seem to be too high. I am going to change it to 60; if anyone finds a source (I couldn't find any mention of an enrollment limit on the Parker website) please change it back. Michael A. Bias in student section

[edit]

Hey, in my opinion, the sentence: "Students come to Parker because they (or their parents) are looking for a better education than the one provided by the local public schools" is biased against the public schools in the vicinity. Thoughts?

Content Removal

[edit]

It seems like pretty much everything was been removed for some reason, mostly by Michael A White. I have put back some, but don't know what this is about. Please clarify. 67.189.169.125 (talk) 21:46, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
