Incorrect photo

[edit]

The current photo is not of Francisco X. Alarcón. This has been confirmed to me by Francisco X. Alarcón. He apparently has tried to get it taken down and exchanged but has had no luck. (Perhaps he is not familiar with editing Wikipedia.) I am going to upload a correct photo with the artist's permission.--Lawrlafo (talk) 23:14, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This link should help you getting the correct photo and permissions in place. Gamaliel (talk) 23:17, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Gamaliel! I have uploaded a correct photo.--Lawrlafo (talk) 23:28, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am Francisco X. Alarcón and have added information below to this page regarding life, awards, and books. I understand that this may be a conflict of interest and has been deleted from the page. This is basically information that is really neutral. I have never edited anything on Wikipedia. Can someone help and go over this info? Thank you, Francisco

He has published another book for children, "Angels Ride Bikes and Other Fall Poems/Los ángeles andan en bicicleta y otros poemas de otoño" (Children’s Book Press 1999). He was member of the Board of Directors of the Mission Cultural Center of San Francisco from 1986-1990, and served as its Board President from 1986-1989. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Children Book Press from 1997 to 2003. Prompted by the response to this poem, he created a Facebook group called "Poets Responding to SB 1070", which grew to include over 1200 poems and received over 600,000 hits. LGBT

[edit]

I just added a reference stating his sexual identity as gay. I really dont like people being categorized as LGBT with no sourced statement in the article to support this. if its not in the article, it should not be in the categories, particularly for living people. i dont care how obvious it is, or to what degree the person publicly speaks or writes on the fact, or how hard it is to fit into the flow of the article. And, of course, it is not YET a completely neutral fact for a person.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 23:05, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
