2024 spike in interest

[edit]

Should this recent conspiracy theory be covered in this article, or get its own? A couple of months ago, this was a purely historical article, now with the latest additions it sounds like something fresh is there, but is it just a violation of WP:FRINGE? --Joy (talk) 19:15, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Should it be covered at all? The information about the latest wackiness is well-sourced, but is it WP:DUE in an article about an obscure cult of the past? Calling out conspiracy theories as such is a good thing, but giving them a boost by talking about them when hardly anybody does is involuntary soapboxing. I opt for a complete removal, but for the time being, I will restore the NPOV non-whitewashing version without WP:SYNTH that blatantly promotes the conspiracy theory. –Austronesier (talk) 15:35, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Let's cross-reference the discussion at Wikipedia:Fringe theories/Noticeboard#Frankism here, too. There's probably a different article where discussion of this is more appropriate than here. --Joy (talk) 08:15, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
