Army, navy and air force service

[edit]

At present we have "It is believed that Sykes is the only man in British history to have been a serving officer in all three of the military services - the army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force". This seems unlikely - it's not that rare for an officer to transfer from one service to another. Although I cannot think of another example of someone serving in all three services, with the vast numbers of people who have served as British officers from 1918 to the present day it seems very likely that there are others apart from Sykes. However if a citation can be provided from a credible source ... Greenshed 20:48, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definately wrong - Michael Torrens-Spence for one served in all three. Kernel Saunters 13:07, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
