Number of speakers
[edit]It would be interesting to know how many people there are who speak French in Laos, and a source to the statement of steady decline would be great too. Aaker 20:32, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Suggested move: Lao French → Laotian French
[edit]I believe this is the correct adjective. FilipeS (talk) 19:23, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was moved to French language in Laos by kwami per consensus. --BDD (talk) 17:43, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Lao French → French in Laos – This appears to be about the French language in Laos in general, not about a distinct dialect of French. — kwami (talk) 21:44, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support in principle, but French language in Laos is the optimal title. It's consistent with similar articles, such as French language in Canada and French language in the United States, and it avoids ambiguity—"French in Laos" could also describe French people in Laos, or French colonial activities in general in Laos. --BDD (talk) 00:02, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support absolutely exactly per BDD Red Slash 03:57, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose it should be French language in Laos since this is not about the French people, the normal meaning of the phrasing you used. -- 70.24.244.161 (talk) 06:24, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Move to French language in Laos per BDD In ictu oculi (talk) 22:06, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose it should be French language in Laos per BDD. I believe the same move should be considered for "French in Vietnam" and "French in the Maghreb" as well. Savvyjack23 (talk) 22:34, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
