[edit]I really like all the detail about Gaius' success in battle and the references seem good. Maybe in the first sentence replace "that" with "who", just because he's a person. Also, make sure that you figure out how to make links for terms like "samnite" and "praetor". It would also be nice to see maybe one or two sentences about his early life if there is any information on it. Romanciv14 20:17, 13 May 2007 (UTC) Hannah
Hey! I think you edited this with the references before I thoroughly looked at your entry. That looks really good by the way. I also enjoy the way you split up the information. I just have two comments. The first sentence is missing two commas. I would write it, "The Samnite army, consisting of southern rebels,..." Secondly, the first part talking about the similarities between the Samnite and Roman armies seems a bit off topic. Unless Gaius had something to do with these specific aspects, I would try to take it out, put it at the end of the section, or make it seem more as if it is a side comment. If Gaius did have something to do with these aspects, I would make it a bit more clear. Other than that, I think your entry is really good. Add some links in there and you'll be solid! Have fun editing... as much as you possibly can... haha -Lauren-A.B.
This looks good overall, and it’s well organized. However, it would be nice to have a little biographical information about his earlier life, if any is available. I also agree that it would be helpful to have a few links to other articles (“Samnite” and “Social War” would be especially useful). You might also want to try adding a map showing the areas/cities he conquered, or add a little description of geography in your article (at least the country/broad area where all this occurred, you don't really explain where these cities are). -Samantha
Your references are very solid, but the writing could be much clearer and there is some interesting and relevant biographical information that you missed completely. Anisekstrong 01:33, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Anise K. Strong
