Budget

[edit]

There's NO WAY this movie cost $12.5M, that's absurd for a movie with this much special effects, my guess would be closer to $125M. Found an article on gerardbutler.net that said $50M, which is atleast remotely plausible, but no real source otherwise. http://www.gerardbutler.net/news/Print.php?NewsID=4158 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stormwern (talkcontribs) 19:29, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Headlines

its not called citizen game that was an april fools joke —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.112.202.169 (talk) 07:37, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As far as anyone knows, it is now called "Citizen Game". They made the announcement before April 1st, and if you look at the Lionsgate site, they still refer to it by its new name. There have been a few interviews which have hinted that a joke may have been played, but they still hint that the title has changed to something other than simply "Game". Guess we'll just have to wait and see what further announcements are forthcoming.magnius (talk) 07:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Red Camera

[edit]

I don't want to get into petty arguments by changing the page, but it seems unlikely that Gamer was the second film after Guerilla to use the Red camera. (1) The film Argentine also used the Red and was shot at the same time as Guerilla, and (2) the film Knowing (also shot on Red) has already come and gone from the theaters. Of course the article was written in 2007, so it's possible they were in production before Knowing, but when is a movie considered to be made; when it shoots or when it shows? - Rapscallion (talk) 17:12, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A film is considered made when filming is complete. The order in which films are finally released has no bearing on the order in which they were produced, so if Gamer used the Red camera before Knowing then it comes first. magnius (talk) 17:23, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Remake of Running Man?

[edit]

I don't think that should be included in the first part of the article for this movie, since there's no link to any source and the movies are only vaguely related in their premises. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.117.137.211 (talk) 08:25, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't neccesarily say that it's related, but perhaps it should be mentioned, in some manner, that this is actually a fairly common premise in dystopian films and novels -- IE, the emergance of ultraviolent sports or gladitorial combat as mainstream entertainment, sometimes employing the disenfranchised, criminals, or deathrow inmates in competition for wealth or freedom, ultimately results in the lead character attempting to overthrow the corporate mastermind(s). 66.220.139.140 (talk) 05:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I changed disagree to agree...since the statement after the word was in "aggrement" with the overall negative critical assessment of the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.255.46.89 (talk) 02:37, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Synopsis Section re-edit

[edit]

I took out some questionable words (like 'somehow' and 'perhaps') from the summary and added some links to words that will allow readers to better understand the circumstances at hand. 76.237.88.71 (talk) 19:58, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kable

[edit]

Why does a search for 'Kable' redirect to this? I was looking for the legal case in Australia, this seems far less important and only has the vaguest connection the the term 'kable' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.239.206.174 (talk) 04:42, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plot

[edit]

I don't understand the plot. It's phrased in a very confusing manner. 80.99.221.200 (talk) 14:32, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Butler's character name is incorrect despite revisions from "vandalism"

[edit]

Not sure how this made it through but Butler's character is known as Kable, not Thoink, as the cast list suggests. Can't edit it since, you know, new account. Hopefully somebody else fixes it. Bandedcat10 (talk) 03:00, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
