Publication dates and publishers needed to be added to the publications list. Are any of the publishers reputable and respected? --Walter Siegmund (talk) 18:30, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The list is consistent with what you can find in Amazon.com. I will look for pub dates, although I do not see that as a must. ≈ jossi ≈ t@ 15:11, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jossi, why did you remove the isbns from the bibliography? — goethean 15:22, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

... I did add all the ISBNs myself... than deleted them by mistake. I have restored them. Please help me complete the ISBN numbers and publishers for the rest of the books. ≈ jossi ≈ t@ 15:29, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What are his academic credentials? Mitsube (talk) 09:49, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yoga Journal: a serious voice

[edit]

Yoga Journal is, and has been since its origin with Judith Hanson Lasater at the helm, a journal of record and a serious voice in yoga. Obviously it has also served as a glossy magazine, but it takes care with its written material and has now for many years addressed serious issues, from the truth about yoga's history, abuse, and the theory and practice of yoga including its meditational side. It certainly isn't just a "pop" magazine in any sense, however decorative it may look. Chiswick Chap (talk) 19:43, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It is a pop magazine and none of the editors have any academic expertise.
And who is "Hally Hammond"? For someone who has read dozens of monographs on the topic from academics, I have never come across such a name. Not even in the bibliography. TrangaBellam (talk) 19:51, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are fully entitled to your personal opinions. However, Wikipedia treats sources as reliable for a variety of reasons, only one of which is being academic. Major newspapers and journals are reliable sources if they habitually report events accurately, as YJ does. Hammond is an experienced journalist and yoga teacher.
