How?
[edit]Do album sales of 7.2 million really refers to 24 times Platinum? I think it is wrong. Also 7.2 is too low for a world-wide star. Please correct these mistakes. With respect, Deliogul 19:16, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- No, those details are correct. Platinum in the UK = 300,000. And the 7.2m figure is for the UK only. His albums in the UK total 24xPlatinum - and 24 x 300k = 7.2million. Rimmers 17:44, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Incomplete Discography
[edit]This discography is missing non-CD and B-side tracks recorded by Michael. Songs such as "Safe", "You Know I Want To", "Crazyman Dance" and "Fantasy", etc. All of his recordings should be included. 68.60.90.240
- b-sides are not allowed to be included MOS:DISCOG
Flags
[edit]The decorative flag icons need to be removed from the tables per WP:FLAGS. They especially should not be used in place of text, which they are in the column headers. - eo (talk) 20:34, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Questions
[edit]Hello!
I have a few questions regarding this discography. Where did you actually find the worldwide sales? I went to the BPI and RIAA and found the information but IFPI and ARIA? For which countries does the IFPI give awards?
The other question I have is how many units have been sold when its 7x Platinum (BPI) or 10x Multiplatinum (RIAA)? I know that Platinum is 300,000 at the BPI, but its surely not 7x 300,000.
Also I would like to find out how much the acutally sold in the USA, EUROPE etc.
I would be so grateful for a reply.
Best wishes

Wrap her up
[edit]Shouldn't Wrap Her Up be listed among the featured-artist songs? Can someone please add it? Aikclaes (talk) 19:38, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Work in progress
[edit]I am sorry but I don't agree that this discography should be listed in Wikipedia:Featured lists. I went just through albums entries and they were not correct. Also the top part of the article had ane design, while starting "As featured artist" section it relies on other. I tried to improve all albums, somebody should have a look on singles yet. Uzerakount (talk) 12:12, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Conflicting
[edit]Older's box is conflicting. It says it's a platinum album, but it has only sold 881,000 sold? Isnt that conflicting — Preceding unsigned comment added by Happymeal33 (talk • contribs) 02:12, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
21-07-2013 I have noticed a mistake in this article, in the UK Star People'97 peaked at number 4 and not at number 2. The additional evidence is that the surrounding number 2 hit singles at this period are certified silver. An expert should re check and edit this correction in for accuracy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.100.54.203 (talk) 21:52, 21 July 2013 (UTC) Plus there are other UK chart position mistakes: Praying For Time No. 4, Freedom'90 No.12, Heal The Pain No. 32. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.100.54.203 (talk) 22:05, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
Symphonica is not a studio album
[edit]Why is it listed as one? 168.156.1.178 (talk) 20:40, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- Right, it's a live album. A collection of songs of his and other artists recorded on tour. I've moved it to the Collections and live albums section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.104.175.132 (talk) 18:59, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
Re: The Older EP
[edit]According to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Older EP, the chart positions for The Older EP may be incorrect. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:49, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- You are right, the EP format of the work should be removed from the discography list as well the artist's template for the EP itself neither charted, nor they cannot count the same chart entries for both, EP and single of the same name. Gustont (talk) 14:16, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Reverted changes to Guest Appearances which broke table
[edit]Hi, I reverted some changes to the Guest Appearances table as in the process of adding some content, the user had unfortunately completely broken the Guest Appearances table such that it all displayed as markup instead of readable text. If someone wants to readd those guest appearances, be my guest - I do not know enough about the topic to know if they were accurate so I haven't entered them myself. The entries added were The Last Kiss - David Cassidy and Red Dress - Andrew Ridgeley. -86.7.177.177 (talk) 11:39, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Nikita
[edit]Under guest appearances the song Wrap Her Up is included from Elton John's album Ice on Fire. George Michael also provided backing vocals on Nikita from the same album. Michael can be heard singing a solo melody without lyrics towards the end of the song. Is this considered a guest appearance and if so is it significant enough to be added to the list?
