Relation to the beta-glucosidase article

[edit]

There is a separate article for beta-glucosidase, whose relationship to this article is not clear. If they are the same concept, the two articles should be merged and one of them should become a redirect. If one is a class that contains the other, the relationship should be clarified, with mutual links in both articles, and the article about the class should contain a list of the members, as complete as possible. --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 21:57, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The two article concerning different EC numbers, (EC 3.2.1.74, Hydrolysis of (1->4)-linkages in (1->4)-beta-D-glucans, to remove successive glucose units vs. EC 3.2.1.21 Hydrolysis of terminal, non-reducing beta-D-glucosyl residues with release of beta-D-glucose) and therefore should not be merged.
