Proposed merge of Nadir Godrej
[edit]There is simply not enough at Nadir Godrej to justify a separate article and issues such as wealth, which is arguably the most notable thing, are shared with the other family members and not distinct to this one person. Sitush (talk) 14:53, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
No I am not agree to merge Nadir Godrej into Godrej family. Family has diversified business and Nadir Godrej has limited. This is not justified to merge both articles.(GKCH (talk) 15:44, 5 September 2013 (UTC))
Proposed merge of Jamshyd Godrej
[edit]There is simply not enough at Jamshyd Godrej to justify a separate article and issues such as wealth, which is arguably the most notable thing, are shared with the other family members and not distinct to this one person. Sitush (talk) 14:56, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- Jamshyd Godrej has his own listing at Forbes, which distinguishes his stake in the family fortune from that of Adi and Nadir Godrej. He's also the chairman of Godrej & Boyce and has been extensively covered in the Indian press. This all strongly indicates that the article should be expanded to cover his career as a major Indian executive - not that it should be merged into Godrej family. He's a different person who does different things. Mandalini (talk) 14:59, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- But this article appears to duplicate much of it, most obviously the stuff about the mangroves. - Sitush (talk) 15:00, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- Forbes separately listed Adi and Jamshyd Godrej on the greenest billionaires list, although the same copy applies to both of them. I was planning to flesh out this article and the Nadir Godrej with more specific information about their respective careers, as they've all done very different things, and all been independently covered in their distinct capacities. There's a reason I created Nadir and Jamshyd Godrej as articles, but didn't create Smita Crishna, for example (that should redirect to Godrej family. I'm open to suggestions. Mandalini (talk) 15:05, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- On second thought, JG is a listed Forbes billionaire, chairman and managing director of a major Indian company, and a recipient of the Padma Bhushan. The suggestion that he's not notable enough to deserve his own article is almost prima facie absurd. Mandalini (talk) 04:03, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I'm still waiting for something to happen with Nadir. Just being an MD and some passing mentions of investments by his firms/fawning namedrops etc doesn't equate to notability. I accept your point re: JG. - Sitush (talk) 12:51, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

Withdrawing this and the Nadir discussion. There are sources and the problem is just that they're not being used and/or not being used very well. Given that Mandalini has admitted to using > 1 account, they're probably still around somewhere and can fix the issues in due course. - Sitush (talk) 13:08, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
