Name
[edit]@Chasewc91:, you moved this to the longer title per WP:NATURAL, but I'm going to move this back to Grey (novel) per WP:COMMONNAME. I don't see many media outlets referring to this book by its full name (there are some, but by large it's referred to only as "Grey") and since there are no other books on Wikipedia by this title, I don't really think that there's any true need for this to have this at its full title. I would like to request that if you want to move this back to the long title, that you open up a move request. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:42, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- WP:SUBTITLE says that books with an ambiguous title should be disambiguated with their subtitle, not a parenthetical disambiguator. Likewise, WP:NATURAL states that natural disambiguation may be used even if it doesn't reflect the subject's most common name. I would like to ask that you revert your move as it is not rooted in naming guidelines or policies. Chase (talk | contributions) 03:44, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- I'd prefer to have a move discussion. This is the most commonly used version of the title and it's not so vague that it'd be misunderstood, plus I have to say that again - this is the only book on Wikipedia by this title. It's not going to be confused with any other title. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:12, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- For example, SUBTITLE gives Orlando as an example, however there are multiple book/literature related material that is named Orlando, whereas there is only one book with Grey as its title. If you can find other books with Grey as its title that have pages on Wikipedia or would merit a mention on the disambiguation page (ie, the authors have pages) then I'd move it back. As it stands now, I don't really see how this would confuse anyone given that this is the most common name and the subtitle makes it almost ridiculously long. - Actually, upon thinking about it- I can see what you mean now. I'll transfer it back. Still, I think that this might be requested again in the future. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:28, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
