Discrepancy

[edit]

The following sentence has a big problem: "When the Yankees came to Washington, the chance to see Babe Ruth brought large crowds to the ballpark, and many fans came whenever John McGraw’s New York Giants were in town." The Senators were in the American League. The Giants have always been a National League team. This was before interleague play, so they wouldn't have played each other except in the World Series (which indeed they did) & in that case, the World Series would've been what brought fans to the stadium. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.82.44.174 (talk) 19:52, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch, you're absolutely right. I had added that info, but I realized I misread the source material; it's been corrected. Delaywaves • talk 20:03, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Main gate?

[edit]

In the article, it states that the main gate was moved in 1923 from Georgia Ave NW to Florida Ave NW. However, I cannot find a single picture anywhere online corroborating this. They all show the large, wide alley coming from Georgia Ave NW, roughly even with the right field wall. The closest I can find is an early aerial photograph showing an alley leading to Bohrer St NW. Any Senators historians have any clue what the deal is with this? ToddC4176 (talk) 00:03, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
