My review

[edit]

This article is in need of some serious work, there are hardly any citations at all, barely any content, and not enough aspects covered.

I realize that this manga is not extremely well known and will fly under many fans' radars but if I can improve it then I will try my best starting now. Im seeing that ANN has been referenced but I would say it rests in a gray area. Most of what they say seems to be true but it would be better if multiple anime/manga news companies reported on the same things and reviewed each other's work.

Manga and anime coverage itself is difficult enough in the US due to most reliable sources related to it being mostly in Japanese. A good idea might be to cite the work itself as well as official websites and companies that have the license for distributing Gunslinger Girl to North America such as Funimation and Seven Seas Entertainment. ANN might be very close to being legit but please be cautious when using it because there aren't enough similar news groups to verify the same information yet.HistoryNerd52 (talk) 04:15, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • HistoryNerd52, OK, but... a. the article has 22 footnotes, which is a lot; in addition, there is a "further reading" section. So what I think you need to do here is explain why these aren't enough, or good enough, or whatever. Moreover, please don't get hung up on the links/references stuff: I do not see, anywhere in your review, comments on the prose, on the lay-out, the paragraphing, the sections, the tone... And there is something else I need you to see: I mentioned in class how broad coverage is in this area. Note the "ancillary" articles, like List of Gunslinger Girl episodes (and look up WP:WALLEDGARDEN)--and then note that that article is an FA, but the review is just really pathetic--we had much lower standards in 2007: Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Gunslinger Girl episodes. • Dr Aaij All that I can think of is for the details about the plot to be expanded on, covering all 15 volumes. The series doesn't have much coverage and isn't popular enough to get much attention from Wikipedia users. I was looking at the paragraphs at the bottom and I don't know how they can be changed to better other than having a little more information and detail put into them. • HistoryNerd52, that may be so, yet I still think you could say more about the article besides just talking about the coverage. I think you are confusing "evaluating" with "saying negative things"--but you might consider a different article, then... Dr Aaij (talk) 22:30, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
