People come to this page because of the interview

[edit]

Or, I should say, 'supposed' interview. In 1976 he is supposed to have given an interview with statements like "we Jews toy with the American public as a cat toys with a mouse". No reliable source for this has ever been given. However, it is part of the history of the subject, and should be addressed. A list of who has promoted this and why would be a useful addition to the article.

I can give you one source for research. Ben Klassen has promoted the interview as true, and has much to say about its supposed content. Google up his book 'On the Brink of a Bloody Racial War', the issue #44 November 88 section. That will tell you plenty about who is promoting this, as will Klassen's own Wiki page. You will also get a good idea of the substance of the interview, but what we need is a reference to the whole thing, maybe a link at the bottom in the sources section.

It is a part of the history of the subject, like it or not. Similarly, stories about Proctor and Gamble's moon and thirteen Stars logo being a Satanic symbol are part of the company's history, despite being pure babble from the padded cell.

Lucifer quote

[edit]

It have read quotes by Rosenthal about an alleged demiurge as a substitute for the Jewish deity. Anyways, this controversial quote has been frequently recycled by conspiracy theorists, including anti-Zionists and antisemites. [1] ADM (talk) 15:17, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Interview

[edit]

I added a part about the interview 4 days ago and discussed the authenticity of the interview. My editing as already been removed on the basis of not containing sources of the interview, even though i left the original link for the interview unchanged. The article on English edition presents the interview as a fact - on the contrary French edition has at least a debate about its authenticity.

If you are referring to this [2], then the problem is the site uses informal, fringe language "I feel, puts an end to any debate as to their authenticity - right from the horse's mouth". Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, for commonly established and agreed facts, WP:NOT a battleground. Piano non troppo (talk) 23:18, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Accurate Documentation Needed

[edit]

The alleged interview of Harold W. Rosenthal is a hoax. Walter White, Jr is a hoax. When someone can provide documented proof there was a Walter White, Jr. and he did in fact have an interview, the reference may be considered as Wiki acceptable. Harold W. Rosenthal was not in the USA nearly all of 1976 for the interview to take place. Statements attributed to Mr. Rosenthal would not exist the many years of his life without some slip of the tongue. Jacob Javits was no idiot. If he had the first idea that Harold Rosenthal had these kinds of beliefs, he would not have been is friend. For years I have searched for this Walter White, Jr and could not locate him. I am of the opinion that his interview is a hoax and is intened for one purpose and that is to spread hate against Jews. This can have only one source here in the USA and that is from the KKK. Because of this, I am deleting the quote from this page. If someone can produce the facts, not just reference the alleged interview document, I will consider its readmission. People should have the right to decide if it was a hoax or not, at least you should mention what that interview says, then let the people decide. If its such a blatant hoax there is nothing to be worried about. Acts0412 (talk) 18:11, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Antisemitic quotes

[edit]

One can find frequently on the Internet a supposed quote by him saying that Jews worship Satan. I think it is pretty obvious it is an invention of antisemites. However, since it is frequently used by them, it would be nice if someone could find a source which discusses the origins of the quote and offers a rebuttal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.191.84.216 (talk) 10:18, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Address the Alleged Interview

[edit]

I realize the dangers presented by antisemitic conspiracy theorists, but the lack of information on this page is being used as "evidence" of media control. The following is an argument for why addressing the interview will actually help fight antisemitism.

There are two reasonable interpretations of the alleged interview: (1) it's a hoax; or (2) Rosenthal suffered a psychological breakdown.

I'm guessing it wasn't a hoax or else it would have been addressed already in the article. If Rosenthal was a Protestant Christian, this story wouldn't be circulating the internet because Protestants can and have classified historical acts of extremism as "not their brand of Christianity".

After the Holocaust, I would certainly have sympathy if rich members of the Jewish community were perhaps guilted into purchasing a significant portion of the corporate stock of media outlets with the common goal of ensuring that hate speech doesn't single out vulnerable minorities. The Supreme Court couldn't do it because of the First Amendment; we should all be thankful that somebody took responsibility.

I phrased the above paragraph in a roundabout way because I'm very aware of the dangers of antisemitic quote mining. Indeed, the antisemitic literature I've perused reads like a Dan Brown novel with an elaborate mixture of history and fantasy all leading a conclusion that a person who is not trained to critically evaluate evidence might consider at least superficially plausible if not the God's honest truth. I assert that the reason this literature is so lofty is because Judaism is unique in that is an ancient and well documented religion whose history is still being written even today in the information age.

I understand why the Holocaust might provoke the initial "better safe than sorry" approach to stories of mentally ill people who just happen to be Jewish. However, the problem in the information age is that there doesn't appear to be anybody filtering internet memes with a common goal of preventing mob violence against religious and ethnic minorities. But that also means that they can't filter an educated response.

If the Rosenthal interview is real, and Rosenthal needed to tell himself that he was special everyday to motivate himself to work harder, then I have nothing but sympathy and appreciation for his hard work (it's better than having a cocaine addiction). It's a pity that he was murdered.

Please try to remember that antisemitism makes non-Jewish people look bad too. And most Americans I know would rather die than risk looking like a bigot.

Therefore, I humbly ask the Jewish community to allow a carefully crafted response to the interview. Let's all try to work together to fight all forms of bigotry on the internet with knowledge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.131.121.249 (talk) 02:14, 9 January 2011‎ (UTC)[reply]

Proof that the Rosenthal interview is a hoax

[edit]

"Harold Wallace Rosenthal's Interview":

"At a very early date, urged on by the desire to make our way in the world, Jews began to look for a means whereby we might distract all attention from the racial aspect. What could be more effective, and at the same time more above suspicion, than to borrow and utilize the idea of a religious community? We've been forced to borrow this idea from the Aryans. We jews never possessed any religious institution which developed out of our own consciousness, for we lack any kind of idealism. This means that a belief in life beyond this terrestrial existence is foreign to us. As a matter of fact, the Talmud does not lay down principles with which to prepare the individual for a life to come, but furnishes only rules for a sumptuous life in this world. It is a collection of instructions for maintaining the Jewish race and regulating: intercourses between us and the goy. Our teachings; are not concerned with moral problems, but rather with how to 'get.'"

Hitler's Mein Kampf:

"The Jew has always been a people with definite racial characteristics and never a religion; only in order to get ahead he early sought for a means which could distract unpleasant attention from his person. And what would have been more expedient and at the same time more innocent than the 'embezzled' concept of a religious community? For here, too, everything is borrowed or rather stolen. Due to his own original special nature, the Jew cannot possess a religious institution, if for no other reason because he lacks idealism in any form, and hence belief in a hereafter is absolutely foreign to him. And a religion in the Aryan sense cannot be imagined which lacks the conviction of survival after death in some form. Indeed, the Talmud is not a book to prepare a man for the hereafter, but only for a practical and profitable life in this world."

So let's hear no more about this obviously fraudulent interview, OK? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.52.127.57 (talk) 20:52, 17 February 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

This is not proof of anything. The interview is not "obviously" fraudulent. There is an open question of its authenticity because of a lack of information and evidence. People should not allow their personal biases to color their "opinions" here on this issue of authenticity. The truth is that its authenticity cannot be definitively established, and that's what Wikipedia should state if it claims to present itself as an unbiased encyclopedia. 2601:281:D900:BF50:9CB2:EA5D:C105:76B0 (talk) 04:55, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is evidently a Jewish apologist format & therefore not an authority on anything. This interview can be found in the Reagan library "Harold Wallace Rosenthal" pgs 8-17 amongst 63 pages. If it weren't valid, it probably wouldn't be archived in the Reagan library. Nice try Zionist. 107.119.69.20 (talk) 22:15, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
