Hayden’s Wardrobe
”Hayden also seems to frequently wear brown leather belts with his jeans. At Showest, he was wearing blue jeans with a light brown belt.” While this is probably my favourite passage in any encyclopedia article right now, I feel I have to question whether we really need it. :D Bossk-Office 21:23, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Gay?
It's best if his private life is respected and undisturbed regardless of who he's currently dating. The "gay" question can't be answered by none other than Hayden himself. Even if he's with Lola or whoever else right now (and i really don't care about her past), it doesn't prove anything. It doesn't prove he's single, dating, gay, bi, straight. So it's an impossible question to answer. Hayden will always keep it private unless the special someone comes along which didn't happen yet I think. So the "gay" question gets tired because no one can answer it. And no one can prove anything about him, his sexuality, his girlfriend, his private life. So I suggest you just keep it low and enjoy his movies the way they're supposed to be enjoyed!

Whatever
Gay or not gay, who cares, bottom line is his acting is terrible.
- Until you score a major role in one of the most epic movies of all time, dont say someones acting is terrible, unless u can act yourself
- Yeah, it's easy to say things like that, but it doesn't work that way, and I'm sure you know that. --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 08:15, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Until you can hand build a car from scratch don't complain about your car not working either. DarthTanner
- The car example is bad - if I bought a car I would expect it to work.. And, you can't say "his acting is terrible" on Wikipedia, you could only source rottontomatoes or something which presented that. Or something along those lines. Yoda921 11:23, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Yoda
You mean "In your OPINION his acting is terrible" One's acting ability is subjective, unlike a car being broken down is objective. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.183.33 (talk) 03:56, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Film career section POV
While Christensen's critically praised portrayal of a misunderstood teenager in Life as a House (2001) earned him Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations as well as the National Board of Review's award for Breakthrough Performance of the Year, the performance didn't receive widespread public notice. However, his star-making role in Attack of the Clones (2002) made him an A-list star. Subsequently, he garnered good reviews as journalist Stephen Glass in 2003's Shattered Glass. Finally, he received favorable responses in the last Star Wars prequel Revenge of the Sith (2005), where he played a more mature, insecure Anakin gradually converting to the Dark Side.
This entire section has been tagged with {{POV-section}} because it is unsourced and conveys a very non-neutral POV. What favorable responses did Christensen receive in Revenge of the Sith? Everything I have ever read about his acting in the Star Wars series was less than positive, to put it lightly. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 22:33, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
- Check out the rotten tomatoes website - http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/star_wars_3/ - to find out what the film critics had to say about Hayden's performance in Revenge of the Sith. Many - but not all - reviews were favorable.
Some Research
From Tjss 23:44, 19 December 2005 (UTC):
- From what I've read about Christensen, he recieved generally good reviews for Life as a House, with reviewers likethis one and this one praising him. Even those reviewers that did not like the movie, like this one liked Christensen's performance. It should be noted that many reviewers did not like the movie, even if they liked Christensen. Also, some reviews did not mention Christensen all that much since Kevin Kline played the lead role and they focused on him. We should say Christensen got generally positive reivews for this one. He was also nominated for several awards including a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role.
- Reviews were mixed for Episode II in general, with many reviewers not liking the movie and singling out Christensen, calling him wooden or stiff. One example is here. Others liked and disliked specific things, like this one. Some were positive, too. Generally, it would be best to call the reivews 'mixed at best.' One review said he was better in Life as a House.
- Shattered Glass had very good reivews, like this one and this one. Christensen is praised in both.
- Episode III seemed to be viewed as an improvement over #2. The same criticisms were brought forward, just by fewer people. Christensen was criticized (see here) and it was also said that he had improved from Clones (see here). We should say that most critics, while acknowledging an improvement over Clones, gave him mixed reivews.
- Unless someone contests my research, I plan on updating the page in about 24 hours and removing the POV tag. -Tjss 23:44, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- No contest here. "Mixed reviews" is a much more accurate portrayal of the criticisms that Christensen received for his roles in in Star Wars II and III. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 06:50, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- this might be tempered by mentioning that Portman was often held up in reviews as worse than Christensen in Ep. III. not sure of the best way to say it, but it definitely reflects a change in critical opinion as compared to Ep. II. it might also be noted that Lucas and McDiarmid have gone on record saying people just didn't like the Anakin character and took it out on Christensen's acting.
Love Life
Really, people? Do we need to include this section? Does it matter who he's currently involved with? Does every celebrity have a love life section? I won't delete it for now, but who wants to second my motion? - Darkhawk
I'll second that. No one wants their love life portrayed on the internet. If they did, they'd do it themselves.
Razzie

Is he gay ?
I think Hayden Christensen is handsome and pretty .He is not gay as some people think .Well ,why he was choosen to play this role ?And I agree with Jorge Lukas "Hayden is the person who will play this role"
Strabismus
Hahahahahaha....sorry..i dont think he has strabismus tho. i have light strabismus, but the doctor said it is obvious only when i overuse my eyes.
I think he has a light form of strabismus, yes.
Pardo..
I reverted this addition again. Firt of all, I have never really herd about it, at least no more than any other male actor. I do not believe that he/his claims are notable, furthermore, I don't think Wikipedia should be used as a vecile for this person to gain notority, or promote his website/book. Cvene64 04:57, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- First off, It's not Pardo's book, it is an author/actors book named Parys Sylver. He wrote the book Entering the Universal Way. I however do agree with that there should not be a link to his site. But there are MANY including a gay themed magazine named "THe Advocate" that claim Hayden is gay. It is beyond notable. Firegirl223 23:02, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Reverted again. I searched "Hayen Pardo" into google, and wow, guess what? The first hit was Trevor Blumas' wikipedia page - the text being basically the same as what is written on here. The second hit starts like this "Michael Pardo is an extremely disturbed individual who is obsessed with. convincing...". The third hit has nothing to do with the subject. The fourth hit is from answers.com, which is a mirror of Blumas' wiki page. Hits, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are not related to the subject. The 9th is a message board post about Pardo and the last is a related blog. Also, I don't think a mention in a GAY magazine makes it notable. Its not a mainstream subject, the only thing that is getting this into mainstream media (i.e google) is Wikipedia, because people are trying to give the rumor legs to stand on/publicize the book and what not. Please do not add it back in. Bolding the book and offering a weblink is just promotion. Wikipedia should not act as a base for non-notable rumors and for non-notable people/websites/books to gain notority. Cvene64 04:20, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- I agree that this Pardo info is unencyclopedic. At least at this time. Mad Jack O'Lantern 05:01, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you Jack O, your second comment raises another issue I would like to add. I have fears that if we keep the info on this page, it will spread over the internet and thus have more notability/google hits and so on. Wikipedia is such a great resource, thats why I think there are potential flaws with templates like {{citationneeded}} and so on, because once the info is on Wiki, it is likely to gain notability throughout the internet (possibly, then, a user can replace the citationneeded with a reference, a reference that may have been inspired by the unsourced wiki info in the first place...not completely relevent to this text, but you know what I mean, I'm not prepared to have such a rumor gain notability through Wikipedia). Cheers. Cvene64 05:23, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- You're absolutely right. You can't imagine how many complete untrue things I've seen gain notability through either the IMDB, which has been doing this kind of thing for years, or our very own Wiki. That's why we should always use only primary sources - something where the subject of the article was involved in, like an interview/profile. Because, most of the time, these web trivia websites actually take their info from us!:) Which is a good thing, if we're right... Mad Jack O'Lantern 05:51, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly! And with this, I'm removing the same text from Blumas' page. Cvene64 07:47, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Removed. The promotion of people/books/websites just isnt acceptable. Furthermore, 67.80.19.94 seems to be one of the main culprits, probably others, that keep on adding this stuff in, including numerous links about the universaway or whatever it is. It is done then, no more promotion of this B-grade rumor/website/book, at least not on Wikipedia! Cvene64 07:57, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed ! Mad Jack O'Lantern 08:09, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
- Though may not a big deal in Hayden's life, Trevor's life and career has been changed for it. Trevor and his managment took this man to court, or was going to. So you can remove the link, the info i put on the page was just the fake that rumors have circulated all over about Hayden. Being gay is the main one. I am sorry if you don't like it but that's the way it is. I do not agree with the cutting and pasting of the infomation of the Trevor article. Firegirl223 23:17, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Acting Ability
You know, if the the Star Wars movie pages have mentions about how the movies were criticized for wooden acting it should be reflected here. He was terrible with his lines, the guy can only put two emotions into his parts - whinning angry and intensely bored. Sure he may be called the greatest swordsman of an actor by some of the trainers in the industry but I don't think a movie should be criticized when the offender gets off free.

An actor's abilities cannot be sufficiently judged by only watching 2 (or really, 1) of their performances.
And even after watching his performances, there is no way to be certain that the characters he plays are not supposed to seem like that. After all, he was selected for the part. George Lucas is no fool he knows what he is doing.
- Are you for real?Dezmo (talk) 01:12, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think that person is "for real." That doesn't make them correct. Hayden very nearly ruined Star Wars for me. Worst line delivery in the entire trilogy is in Episode III. As Anakin has disarmed (and de-handed) Count Dooku and has two lightsabers at his throat, Palpatine commands Anakin to "kill him." Hayden delivers the line "I shouldn't" horribly. He either 1) wasn't trying to act at all, or 2) is really, really bad at acting. My vote is that he's really, really bad at acting. And as for Lucas, anybody who writes the line "From my point of view, the Jedi are evil" into his supposed masterpiece, may not actually know what he is doing. I love Star Wars as much as anybody, but that line makes the whole daggum Sith > Jedi argument fall apart. Panzer V Panther (talk) 00:29, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

- You are making a personal statement about how he delivered the lines "horribly", and then you mention Lucas's inability to keep up the Sith vs Jedi dynamics that were previously laid out (or that's how I interpreted it.) They are both your personal opinions; the first, nevertheless, I have seen echoed many times and it may have a place in the article, if you can find sources for it (I'm sure there has to be some, I've read things about Christensen's and Portman's "wooden" acting in ROTS.) You could start with the Rotten Tomatoes aggregations. As for the latter (what you say about Lucas), besides being also your opinion, has no place in this article-it's information that's more suited for the ROTS or Lucas articles. --W2bh (talk) 04:16, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Do these fansites qualify as reliable sources? They are used as a reference for several statements. --Onorem♠Dil 12:10, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- After thinking about it more, I've decided to remove the sections that used these fansites as sources. I believe that in addition to being poor sources per WP:BLP, the information they supported was trivial. --Onorem♠Dil 16:17, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Hayden's Wardrobe and Accessories/Embarrassing Moments
This is the page where we should be discussing the article's content and possible revisions? Why are the sections on Embarrassing Moments and Wardrobe being deleted? Both came from reliable sources. All of the information on Hayden's clothing style was perfectly accurate. I can attest to that after observing him in pictures and on television. In addition, the quote about his pants splitting is legitimate. I have seen many websites that quoted Hayden about the issue, and I even heard him recount the revealing incident during an interview about AOTC. Emperor1125 12:25, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Emperor1125
- Fansites are not reliable sources...and shouldn't be included as references. The information is also incredibly trivial. Who cares what kind of jeans he wears? Who cares that for Showest, he was wearing blue jeans with a light brown belt...but on Good Morning America, he wore a different brown belt. <sarcasm>OMG...he has more than one belt. That's amazing.</sarcasm> Unless reliable sources start covering Mr. Christensen's daily wardrobe, It's not encyclopedic information. --Onorem♠Dil 12:33, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Is that trivial information? Many fans are interested in discussing their favorite celebrities' appearances and wardrobes. Clothes can often tell you something about a person. In Hayden's case, his clothing style may suggest an elegant, but down-to-earth style. That seems consistent with the persona that Hayden projects in interviews. No matter how famous he becomes, he always seems to remain true to himself and his own personal preferences. Hayden has demonstrated that even while you are exalted on a lofty pedestal, you can still be real and genuine.
Fansites aren't reliable sources? What about eyewitnesses? All you have to do is look at pictures and video recordings of Hayden, as I have done, and you can see exactly what his wardrobe entails. 68.38.246.88 18:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Emperor1125
- WP:RS & WP:OR. Nope. You can't look at the pictures or videos and make claims either. Sure you can see his wardrobe by looking at his pictures, but that doesn't explain how or why it's notable. --Onorem♠Dil 18:58, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
What would make the information notable? How about if one was to consider and mention the connection between wardrobe and personality that I cited? 68.38.246.88 19:08, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Emperor1125
- The information might be considered notable if a reliable source discussed it. The connection between wardrobe and personality you made above would be considered original research. --Onorem♠Dil 19:48, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
What was your objection to the quote about Hayden splitting his pants? Do you not consider Entertainment Weekly and the breaking news website to be reliable? 68.38.246.88 21:17, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Emperor1125
- I left the quote. I just moved it into the text near where it discussed the movie. The source didn't say anything about embarassment, or that he said it was one of his more embarassing moments. There wasn't enough information there to support a separate section when the OR was removed.
- Side note: You only need to sign after your statement...no reason to sign before and after. --Onorem♠Dil 22:20, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- DELETE - quote adds nothing to the article and actually detracts from the quality. My $0.02. Thanks, Hu Gadarn (talk) 02:26, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
I deleted the whole section. I'm very surprised that you were even trying to discuss this. No one doubts that his pants split. No one cares, except his fans that also cares about what his favourite colour is, and what he eats for breakfast. This is not a fan-site. Pipatron (talk) 20:19, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Are you saying that the information about when Hayden's pants split is irrelevant? Since it happened while filming his most famous movie, I would think that such an incident was relevant to discussion of his career. Emperor1125 —Preceding undated comment was added at 03:50, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hayden is fit to take the role of Pope Pius XII
For me, Hayden Christensen is very, very, very fit to take a leading role for the film of Pope Pius XII. Both of them have the same fate: Pope Pius XII is always criticized for for not speaking during the World War II, but he did his professionalism as a pope. Hayden Christensen is also criticized as one of the worst, but he also did his professionalism as an actor.

Is the name of Haydens older brother and sister really "Tove and Hejsa"? i'm danish. Tove is a name for a girl, and "hejsa" means like... "hullo" in danish (hello being "hej"). Misplaced colon
The "Star Wars" section contains the sentence "This was essential to solidify the story that Lucas was trying to tell: Anakin Skywalker's fall from grace and transformation into Darth Vader". If someone could correct it to "This was essential to solidify the story that Lucas was trying to tell Anakin Skywalker's fall from grace and transformation into Darth Vader" that would be great because I'm not yet eligible for editing semi-protected articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EurovisionAndXenomorphs (talk • contribs) 18:10, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

I can provide a citation for the statement: "An avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan,[citation needed]"
The reference is in this interview in the Toronto Sun: https://torontosun.com/entertainment/movies/i-make-a-mean-pizza-hayden-christensen-trumpets-cooking-skills-in-little-italy "I’m a massive Maple Leafs fan. I grew up playing hockey, so hockey’s my first love. But I’m a fan of all things Toronto, so Jays, Raptors, Leafs, Toronto FC… I support them all. I still have that Blue Jays jacket and I wear it out and about." Jombroni (talk) 06:22, 13 December 2019 (UTC)
Infobox photo and date?
I'm incredibly skeptical about the date of the current Infobox photo, claiming to be taken on June 27, 2017. Contemporary photos of Christensen, taken in 2017, show him looking significantly older.
I'm also concerned about the provenance of the photo. Because it claims to derive from a "Gál Tímea," yet has "HCFN" clearly marked in the lower right corner. A Google search doesn't come up with that organization or that name as a photographer, but does show this apparent Instagram account.
But the most damning of all is this photo at www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/2457100/hayden-christensen-cfda-awards-richard-chai-08/ and this one at www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/2457097/hayden-christensen-cfda-awards-richard-chai-05/ and a series of others taken from Just Jared, show him at the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall on Monday, June 7, in New York City. He is in the exact same wardrobe with the exact same background in many of these photos. Clearly this is the same event. The date of this Just Jared article is: JUNE 8, 2010.
I could not link directly to them because the site is on Wikipedia's blacklist. So please cut & paste the URLs to see these photos.
And there, the images in this group are credited at that site to, variously: "Credit: Dimitrios Kambouris, Kevin Mazur, Andrew H. Walker, Soul Brother/Filmmagic; Photos: Getty, Wireimage." There isn't a ""Gál Tímea" listed in that group.
So bottomline, this clearly isn't the date the "author" claims. And once that's a lie, for me, everything else is suspect too. As is the "author" who claims this photo is her own work. X4n6 (talk) 23:35, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker are the same person???
Can we please PLEASE remove the spoiler in the second paragraph that these two people are the same person.
It is also arguable whether Hayden Christensen plays "Darth Vader" in episodes I-III. Anakin only becomes Darth Vader at the very end of Episode III. He is only on screen for a moment at the very end of Episode III and even then is not even voiced by Christensen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:BB6:315F:3658:40DF:7828:4AB2:BEBE (talk) 17:50, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
