recent history
[edit]recent history should be changed to this: have it so there is a paragraph called steve mcclaren and then another paragraph underneath with fabio capello and the present. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.157.55.157 (talk) 00:24, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Wartime and victory internationals
[edit]I have just corrected the article's incorrect statement that no football was played in England during World War II (see Category:Wartime football (soccer)), and provided information from Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation as a reference. Since the wartime and victory internationals were unofficial, it would possibly be better if the details of these matches were placed in separate articles with a shorter mention of them in this article. - The category 'Wartime football (soccer)' has been moved to Category:Wartime association football in line with a general Wikipedia naming improvement. Coyets (talk) 14:44, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Where have the 1950s gone?
[edit]There seems to be a chunk missing. There's a paragraph that ends with the Second World War, then the next paragraph starts "Ramsey's prediction came true" and goes on to talk about 1966. The 1950s and early 1960s appear to be missing entirely, presumably covered in the missing paragraph that previously told us who Ramsey is and what he predicted. (I mean, I know what's being referred to, but that's not the point.) Brickie (talk) 15:31, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- The section was removed by a vandal here and never restored. I've now done so.--Pawnkingthree (talk) 02:34, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Playing style of England
[edit]I believe should have a section on its playing style as I believe there is enough analysis for it to be a subsection in the main article what are any elses thoughts.Dwanyewest (talk) 01:51, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

'National team' what happened to the women's national team
[edit]This refers to the men's game. It should either be titled 'Men's national team' and/or information added about the other national team
The Lionesses are one of two national teams. Women were actively excluded from the game from the 20s.
Several edits are called for. 2A00:23C5:E138:1A01:3C24:4D24:D235:ADE6 (talk) 12:43, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
