[edit]

I'm thinking of doing some work on this page, including rationalising and improving the references. If I were to do so I would change the reference format to the list-defined system – references defined in the reference section, not in the text – and to hand-written refs (without cite templates). I might do that in a day or two if no-one minds, but will leave well alone if there's any objection. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:13, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Justlettersandnumbers: I object to you changing the most common citation method (templates) to the older, less useful flat reference style. Putting named references under reflist|refs= is fine. I have previously mentioned this on other WP:WikiProject Equine article's talk pages, and posted it on your user talk page at User talk:Justlettersandnumbers § Why have you been dismantling good CS1 citation style formatting? You didn't answer me there, but WHY do you do this? Are you just scraping the screen on the article page and then reusing that as your "code" for a citation? Consider this notice as my blanket objection to any and all articles I have edited in the past (where my username appears in the edit history, whether or not they are currently on my watchlist and I get notified by one of these notices). There is no good reason for unmocking a perfectly good rendition just because you are unwilling or unable to figure out how to use CS1.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 02:02, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
