It seems like it's changed URLs multiple times. The current URL: http://www.bssal.org/ (Archived: http://web.archive.org/web/20140511051827/http://www.bssal.org/)

Dual US-Japan citizenship

[edit]

I know Japan prohibits dual citizenship for adults, but for children Japan allows it until age 22 I think... WhisperToMe (talk) 23:32, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you want archived info on these schools

[edit]

I found that "CLARINET" means Children Living Abroad and Returnees Internnet (Japanese name: 海外子女教育・帰国児童生徒教育等) - That refers to MEXT (Japanese education ministry)'s page on international education of Japanese people. CLARINET archives may have information on past hoshuko programs that do not appear in current lists (as in they closed!)

See page archives WhisperToMe (talk) 04:24, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Found them! See Talk:List of hoshū jugyō kō#Old school list WhisperToMe (talk) 08:34, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

MEXT has used a map format seen here (Archive) as its "map" of schools. The reason why the map image of the other page was broke is because it wasn't archived. WhisperToMe (talk) 06:26, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hoshuko with articles on CiNii

[edit]

Here are some hoshuko which do not/not yet have Wikipedia articles but have Japanese-language articles on CiNii:

Conclusions from a paper about Japanese high school students in the USA

[edit]

This paper:

Has an English abstract which concludes "chatting activities in Japanese during lunch break at the supplementary school is critical for establishing cultural identity for Japanese high school students living in the U.S."

Is it important enough to include in this article? WhisperToMe (talk) 16:57, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Old URLs

[edit]

https://www.osaka-kyoiku.ac.jp/educ/ktj55-e.html seems to have copies of old URLs of hoshukos, something useful for Wikidata WhisperToMe (talk) 23:38, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
