Manors in Houghton Conquest

[edit]

Somebody is very confused between Houghton House and Conquestbury, aka Houghtonbury. These two houses are NOT the same. All traces of Conquestbury were destroyed in the 1850's, when the current (still occupied) house was built. The picture that is shown when some of the links on this page are followed is Houghton House.

I have revamped this entire article, as Houghton Conquest refers to the village that both Conquestbury AND Houghton House were located. I have put the manor stuff under its own sub-heading in the history section, and tried to sort it out a bit. This section still requires further expansion and clarification though.
