Photograph, please
[edit]A photo would be nice (as noted above), especially since the two External Links to www.henry-davis.com, Description of the Lenox Globe and Photo of the Lenox Globe, seem to be broken. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.73.142.140 (talk) 11:24, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Here Be Dragons
[edit]"It is notable as one of only two known instances of a historical map actually using the phrase HC SVNT DRACONES"
What is the other one? As far as I can tell the Hunt-Lenox Globe is the only historical map to contain a version of the phrase. The wikipedia article on "here be dragons" supports this opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BartonFunk (talk • contribs) 01:27, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
1504 or 1510 ?
[edit]The dating of this globe was
- 1510 with sources : Cosgrove, Denis E (1999). Mappings. Reaktion Books. p. 80. ISBN 9781861890214. and "The Hunt–Lenox Globe, Treasures of the New York Public Library". New York Public Library. Archived from the original on 22 January 2011. Retrieved 25 July 2010.

until this diff ( 21 August 2019 ) and now it is
- 1504 with source Missinne, Stefaan, The Da Vinci Globe, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 2018, x + 282 p., 220 illustrations mostly in colour, 4 tables, 2 diagrams, 29 x 20.5 cm, soft cover, ISBN 978-1-5275-1134-7, op.cit. 46-60.
The New York Public Library is still dating the globe : 1510 (approximate)[1].
I'm french and I can hardly argue in English and I'm not able to fix english article but « around 1510 » seems the most valuable date. HB (talk) 07:57, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
