Incorrect information regarding extent of damage on barrier islands[edit]

The article states that "Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach, and Pine Island bore the brunt of Ian's powerful winds and its accompanying storm surge at landfall, which leveled nearly all standing structures and collapsed the Sanibel Causeway.." While many buildings suffered major damage from storm surge and many were deemed a total loss, the storm did not "level nearly all the standing structures" on Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, or Pine Island. 67.238.61.10 (talk) 14:29, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed the wording to thousands in the region which is a cited number in the article. ✶Quxyz 19:36, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The article contains this sentence:

"Ian maintained its intensity for several hours before weakening to a Category 4 hurricane as it approached the coast of Florida due worsening environmental conditions."

There is a missing "to" in the sentence.

Here is the fixed sentence:

"Ian maintained its intensity for several hours before weakening to a Category 4 hurricane as it approached the coast of Florida due to worsening environmental conditions." 24.115.255.37 (talk) 21:27, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
