Pudovik reaction

[edit]

Something seems duplicative here vs Pudovik reaction. Hydrophosphonylation is the general case of (RO)2P(O)-H addition across C=X and maybe Pudovik reaction is the specific case of (RO)2P(O)-H addition across C=NR?--Smokefoot (talk) 18:29, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That's my understanding of it. For hydrophosphonylation almost any unsaturated group will do, not just C=X but C=C, C≡C and X=X as well, see the review by Pudovik on the article page, its old but expansive. The separation between the Pudovik reaction and Kabachnik–Fields reaction seems more nuanced.--Project Osprey (talk) 23:04, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
