I know that the image of the bridge that had been on this article before had been removed due to licensing concerns. So I took a picture of the bridge myself, and added it to the article. The image I added is licensed under both the GFDL and the Creative Commons license.

Only suspension bridge across the Mississippi?

[edit]

So wait... does the Gateway Bridge not count? See http://www.visi.com/~jweeks/upper_mississippi/pagesB/umissB03.htmlRob (talk) 04:24, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Toll Bridge

[edit]

As a youth growing up in the QC, I remember the bridge being a toll bridge. In fact, if one looks closely under the Moline side of the span, you can still see where the toll booths were. (There were offices under the roadway.) What I don't remember is when it stopped being a toll bridge. Certainly sometime in the late 1960s, or possibly early 1970s. Definately several years before all the I-74 work. Does anyone remember the date? --Wws 04:45, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it took a few years to learn the answer. But according to an article written by Bill Wundram in the QC Times (July 28, 2015), the tolls were eliminated in 1969. --Wws (talk) 14:57, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There's a bridge between I-80 and I-74

[edit]

It's the 19th Street Bridge in Moline. It doesn't reach Iowa, but instead connects to Campbells Island. Will (Talk - contribs) 10:37, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
