Merge with Iain Banks

[edit]

This article adds nothing to Iain Banks. Richard75 (talk) 15:35, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It summarises and explains Banks' oeuvre, as a bibliography should. I take from this that you propose to close other pages listed at [[Category:Bibliographies_of_British_writers]] and in the more general category? MasterOfHisOwnDomain (talk) 18:46, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's just three paragraphs about his work and a list of books. It could easily be incorporated into his own article. It doesn't warrant a separate article all to itself. Maybe similar articles about other authors' bodies of work do, but that doesn't mean that this one does. Richard75 (talk) 21:40, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Fair points, though I respectfully disagree that it doesn't serve a purpose. Will have to gauge other opinions and see if there's a consensus before any further action (as per WP:NOCON). MasterOfHisOwnDomain (talk) 16:46, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Richard75 and MasterOfHisOwnDomain, I am inclined to support a merge as Banks' output is fairly small and the existing prose in the bibliography article is a good fit for the main article. Some writers on Category:Science fiction bibliographies have written quite a few short stories resulting in extensive bibliographies. Others have many series. Banks' bibliography divides neatly into small sections, "Non-SF works" and "SF works", that each are about one page-full. --Marc Kupper|talk 20:07, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's been long enough; I'm going ahead. It won't make the main article much longer since it already contains a full list of his works anyway. There's no justification for repeating the same content here. Richard75 (talk) 19:48, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
