Diffusion?

[edit]

The lede cites "when moisture diffuses..." as a principal mechanism. In fact, a variety of types of moisture flow can cause ice lenses, including capillary flow, gravity and artesian flow. The article, itself, shows some of these. It does not show an example of diffusion, which is a Brownian motion redistribution of molecules from across a pressure potential for the material being redistributed. I suggest changing the wording to "when moisture flows..." Similar rewording is needed in two other places. --User:HopsonRoad 01:42, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't just suggest changes. Make them... 71.84.180.98 (talk) 01:12, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming

[edit]

The technical journals have moved on and it is time for this article to do so too. As the article originator, I intend to rename this article Ice segregation. Comments? Skaal - 71.84.180.98 (talk) 01:12, 5 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
